New Silver Beach

New Silver Beach is a sandy shore along the Wild Harbor River in North Falmouth where shallow bay waters meet the land. The beach spreads across a wide open area suitable for swimming and relaxation during warm months.

The area developed as a seaside resort in 1893 with a distinctive star-shaped street layout featuring four main avenues radiating outward. This original design reflected the planned nature of the community as a seasonal destination.

The Silver Beach Improvement Association maintains community engagement through organized events and activities for residents throughout the summer season.

The beach has restrooms, seasonal lifeguard supervision, and parking managed by Barnstable Town. Visitors should check parking availability during summer months as space can fill quickly on busy days.

A sailing club at the beach was founded in 1953 and continues to teach young sailors fundamental maritime skills. These sailing traditions have remained an active part of the local community for generations.
