Built around 1753, the Rising Sun Inn functioned as a rest stop for travelers and became a central meeting point for the local community.
Since 1916, this historical building has functioned as the headquarters for the Ann Arundel Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Located at coordinates 39°2′54″N 76°36′53″W near Crownsville, the inn maintains regular hours for guided tours and educational programs throughout the year.
The Maryland Historical Trust maintains extensive documentation about the inn's architectural evolution from its original 1753 construction through late 18th-century additions.
