Kinder Farm Park

Kinder Farm Park is a 288-acre county park in Millersville featuring walking trails, fishing spots, and historic farm buildings that document rural life in Anne Arundel County. The grounds include open spaces for recreation alongside structures that reflect farming traditions.

The Kinder family began farming here in 1892 and later sold the land to Anne Arundel County in 1979 for park development. This transfer allowed the family's agricultural legacy to be preserved for public use.

A 4H youth group cares for farm animals here and teaches visitors about agricultural practices and animal husbandry. You can watch how the animals are raised and cared for as part of living farm education.

The park operates daily from dawn until dusk and offers pavilion rentals for group gatherings and events. Trail conditions vary by season, so choose appropriate footwear and clothing for the time of year you visit.

Historic farm equipment and tools are displayed inside the 1925 Kinder farmhouse, showing visitors how early farming operations actually worked. Walking through this space reveals the daily practical challenges and solutions farmers faced before modern machinery.
