Yanticaw Park

Yanticaw Park is a county park in Nutley that spreads across land between Centre Street and Chestnut Street with natural spaces along the Third River. The property includes several sports facilities such as renovated basketball courts, an artificial turf softball field, and maintained baseball fields.

The park began development in 1911 after Essex County purchased land and constructed a dam with a lake. That lake was drained in 1962, and the land was converted to support modern sports activities.

The Carmen A. Orechio Recreation Complex within the park includes multiple sports fields that bring together local teams and community members.

The park offers easy access to sports facilities and is walkable from surrounding streets. Visitors should plan their visit during fair weather to make the most of the outdoor spaces.

A playground in the Girls' Park section features specialized equipment with rubberized safety surfaces and is named after Frank A. Cocchiola. This facility shows the park's focus on creating safe spaces for children and families.
