Iviswold, Historic mansion in Rutherford, New Jersey, US
The Iviswold building features three stories with 25 rooms, constructed with stone walls and incorporating architectural elements from the late 19th century.
The property, built in 1869 as Hill House, underwent a major expansion in 1887 under architect William Henry Miller after David Brinkerhoff Ivison purchased it.
Iviswold transitioned from a private residence to an educational facility, serving as part of Fairleigh Dickinson University and later Felician University.
The building received substantial restoration funding from the New Jersey Historic Trust, leading to completion of renovation works in 2013.
The mansion evolved from a two-story structure with a mansard roof to a three-story building through an extensive remodeling process in 1887.
