Selkirk Shores State Park is a New York state park on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, near the village of Pulaski. The park combines open meadows, woodland trails, a lakeside beach, boat launches, and campgrounds on a bluff overlooking the water.
The land around Lake Ontario was home to indigenous peoples long before European settlers arrived in the 1700s. The area was later set aside as a New York state park to protect public access to the lakeshore and the surrounding natural land.
Selkirk Shores sits on a bird migration route, which draws birdwatchers in spring and fall when flocks pass through and rest in the trees. The park also hosts seasonal events like Fall Fest, where locals gather for food, crafts, and outdoor activities.
