Southwick Beach

Southwick Beach is a natural sandy shoreline along Lake Ontario featuring a wide beach area and vegetated dunes. The water is clear and suitable for swimming, with the entire setting providing space for various recreational activities.

The area came under Southwick family ownership starting in 1870, when they developed entertainment attractions on the land. These facilities eventually closed during difficult economic times, leading to the transformation of the site.

The beach serves as a social hub where local families gather throughout the summer season for celebrations and get-togethers. Visitors will notice how the shoreline brings together people from the surrounding communities for everyday recreation and special events.

The beach has restrooms, parking areas, and lifeguard coverage during the summer season. It is best to arrive early during peak days and check conditions before your visit.

The beach connects directly to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area, a protected zone with coastal dunes. Birders can observe numerous migratory species here, particularly during seasonal movements.
