Saitta House, Queen Anne style residence in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, United States.
The Saitta House is a two-and-a-half-story residential building in Queen Anne style located at 1135 84th Street in Brooklyn. It features Tudor decorations, stucco surfaces, and recessed porches that define its architectural character.
The house was designed and built in 1899 by architect John J. Petit for a Manhattan fruit merchant. It became the first property in Dyker Heights to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The residence reflects Italian craftsmanship in its detailed woodwork and interior spaces. These elements shaped how the home was built and decorated from the start.
The building preserves its original architectural features both outside and inside. Since it is a private residence, visitors can view and appreciate it from the street.
The house appeared on the cover of a Scientific American building edition in 1901. This publication brought attention to its architectural design as a notable example of the era.
