Saitta House, Queen Anne style residence in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, United States.
The Saitta House at 1135 84th Street stands as a two-and-a-half-story residence with Tudor decorations, stucco surfaces, and deep recessed porches.
Built in 1899 by architect John J. Petit for Simone Saitta, a Manhattan fruit dealer, the construction of this house cost $14,000 plus $2,700 for the land.
Italian craftsmen lived on the premises during construction, creating detailed woodwork and Elizabethan interior designs that remain intact to this day.
The residence maintains its original architectural components, both inside and outside, making it a reference point for Queen Anne style residential architecture studies.
Featured on the cover of Scientific American's building edition in June 1901, the house became the first in Dyker Heights listed in the National Register.
