Owls Head Park

Owls Head Park is a public park covering approximately 80 acres along Upper New York Bay with basketball courts, playgrounds, and walking paths winding through its green spaces. The grounds feature restrooms, water fountains, and designated picnic areas for visitors.

The land functioned as an industrial site until the late 1800s before being converted into a public recreation area that opened to visitors in 1935. This transformation marked a significant shift in how the area developed for leisure and community use.

The space hosts a World War I memorial and regularly draws people for outdoor movie nights and summer performances that happen throughout the year.

Multiple entrances connect conveniently to nearby subway stations and bus stops, making access straightforward. Visitors should plan to explore the open spaces during earlier daylight hours, especially when walking the various paths throughout the grounds.
