Industry City, Food hall and market complex in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, US
Industry City is a former freight terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, now used as a market and food hall. The complex stretches across several brick buildings with high ceilings and open walkways, where visitors walk between stalls of fresh goods and small restaurants.
The terminal was built in the early 20th century as a transfer point for goods moving from the harbor into the mainland. In the 2010s, the site was renovated and repurposed for food vendors and commercial tenants.
The name reflects the industrial heritage of the complex, while the building today houses artisans and food producers from around the world. Visitors see fresh bread from a local bakery next to house-cured sausages from a German butcher shop and sake poured directly from an onsite brewery.
The hall opens daily from late morning through evening, with longer hours on weekends. Visitors reach the site by subway or bus toward Sunset Park and then walk a few minutes.
One vendor inside the building butchers and processes whole animals onsite for charcuterie and meat products. Another corner features dishes based exclusively on avocados, from burgers to desserts.
