Franklin Park Conservatory
Franklin Park Conservatory, Botanical garden and conservatory in Columbus, United States
The Franklin Park Conservatory contains specialized environments with plants from rainforests, deserts, mountains, and seasonal gardens across 88 acres of parkland.
The Victorian-style glass building opened in 1895, modeled after the Glass Palace of the 1893 Chicago World Fair, and gained National Historic Place status.
The conservatory presents rotating art exhibitions integrating glass sculptures and natural elements, connecting horticulture with contemporary artistic expression.
Visitors can participate in cooking demonstrations, gardening workshops, and butterfly releases throughout the year within the temperature-controlled glass houses.
The conservatory maintains a collection of rare palm trees and cycads dating from its founding, including specimens over 125 years old.
