Charles Frederick Myers house

The Charles Frederick Myers house is a four-story residence in Columbus featuring a square tower, steep tile roofs with dormers, and decorative chimneys. The exterior walls display terra cotta ornaments, and the building contains 18 rooms with original wooden elements made from black walnut, mahogany, and cherry.

Built in 1896, this residence was commissioned by Charles Frederick Myers, the founder of the United States Carriage Company. It later served as a nursing home between 1940 and 1977, marking a significant change in its purpose.

The interior features a grand hall with a sculptured central staircase and a Turkish alcove with a tented ceiling and oriental furnishings. These spaces show the owner's interest in decorative styles from around the world.
