Forry's Mill Covered Bridge

The wooden bridge extends 103 feet across Chiques Creek, featuring double Burr arch trusses, steel hanger rods, and red paint with white approaches.

Built in 1869 by Elias McMellen at a cost of $2,969, the bridge underwent repairs in 1925 and major reconstruction in 1986 following a vehicle incident.

The structure represents traditional Pennsylvania bridge construction methods, connecting West Hempfield and Rapho Townships while maintaining its original architectural elements.

Located on Bridge Valley Road, 0.4 kilometers north of Pennsylvania Route 23, the bridge maintains a deck width of 12 feet 10 inches and clearance of 11 feet 6 inches.

This bridge stands as the final covered crossing over Chiques Creek before the water flows into the Susquehanna River.
