The limestone and concrete structure spans 744,695 square feet, making it the largest academic building on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
Originally named Forbes Quadrangle until 2000, the building stands on the former site of Forbes Field baseball stadium, which operated from 1909 to 1970.
The building houses multiple academic departments, including the Graduate School of Public Affairs and social sciences departments of the Dietrich School of Arts.
Students access multiple computer laboratories, lecture halls, administrative offices, classrooms, and a food court within this centralized academic facility.
The original home plate from Forbes Field remains preserved under plexiglass near its exact historical location within the building complex.
