Litchfield Towers, International Style dormitory complex at University of Pittsburgh, US
Litchfield Towers is a residential complex on the University of Pittsburgh main campus made up of three connected high-rise buildings for undergraduate students. The three towers vary in height and together form a single integrated housing facility.
The complex was completed in 1963 by architectural firm Deeter & Ritchey and later named after Chancellor Edward Litchfield. He died in a plane crash in 1968, after which the complex received his name.
Each tower contains student lounges, study areas, and communal spaces that foster educational and social interactions among undergraduate residents throughout the academic year.
The complex houses Panther Central, a centralized service hub where students can handle administrative tasks like ID matters and maintenance requests. This central location makes it convenient for students to take care of university services in one place.
