Forbes Hall

Forbes Hall is a student residence building at the University of Pittsburgh containing 232 air-conditioned double rooms across six floors. Some rooms feature adjoining bathrooms and balconies overlooking Forbes Avenue.

The building operated as a nursing facility from 1964 until 1972, when financial difficulties forced closure. It underwent renovation and conversion into student housing in 1978 as part of the university's expansion.

The building includes social spaces with pool tables, television areas, and study rooms where residents gather throughout the day. These shared rooms shape the rhythm of student life and daily interactions within the residence.

The building offers kitchenettes on each floor, laundry facilities, and a mail center for daily needs. Keep in mind that this is a residential space with limited public access except during designated visiting hours.
