Lothrop Hall

Lothrop Hall is a student residence at the University of Pittsburgh with 14 floors housing approximately 720 students in single and double rooms. The building features in-room sinks and common lounges on each floor for resident use.

The building was completed in 1953 and originally served as housing for nursing students at the university. Over time, it expanded to accommodate students from different programs and backgrounds.

The building hosts living communities organized around shared interests and backgrounds, creating spaces where residents connect based on common values or academic focus. These arrangements help students build meaningful friendships with peers who have similar experiences.

The lobby houses mailboxes, fitness equipment, and computer stations for internet access. Each floor has its own lounge area available for residents to use.

A skywalk directly connects the building to the School of Nursing in the adjacent Victoria Building, making it convenient for nursing students. This direct link creates a practical bridge between residential and academic spaces.
