Old Engineering Hall, University building in Pittsburgh, United States
The Old Engineering Hall stands at 3943 O'Hara Street as a seven-story structure connecting Allen Hall, Thaw Hall, and the Van de Graaff Building.
The building, completed in October 1955 at a cost of 1.2 million dollars, initially housed engineering offices, classrooms, laboratories, and an aeronautical testing wind tunnel.
The building's frieze displays bas-relief engineering society insignias, reflecting its commitment to technical education at the University of Pittsburgh.
After substantial renovations in 2012 affecting multiple floors, the building now accommodates psychology laboratories and East Asian Languages departments.
The basement of Old Engineering Hall contained a specialized wind tunnel designed specifically for aeronautical engineering experiments and testing.
