151 North Franklin, Office skyscraper in The Loop, Chicago, US.
151 North Franklin is a 35-floor glass tower standing about 570 feet (173 m) tall at the corner of Franklin and Lake Streets in Chicago's Loop. Its facade is entirely glass, and the floor plates are column-free, which allows for wide open office layouts across every level.
The project was planned from 2013 by the John Buck Company with architect John Ronan, and it was designed as a contemporary office building for the Loop from the start. CNA Insurance came on board early as the anchor tenant, and its presence shaped many of the decisions made during design.
151 North Franklin carries interior details that echo the CNA Insurance logo, the building's anchor tenant: the 70-degree angle of the corporate mark reappears in angles and surfaces throughout the lobby. Visitors who look closely can spot this link between a company's identity and the architecture around them.
The tower sits at the corner of Franklin and Lake Streets, close to several bus stops and elevated train stations in the Loop, making it easy to reach on foot from most of the area. Ground-floor restaurants and cafes are open to anyone, so stopping in does not require access to the office floors above.
The building has three outdoor terraces spread across different floors, each offering a different angle on the surrounding streets and rooftops of the Loop. These are not small ledges but fully designed open-air spaces built into the structure itself.
