150 North Riverside Chicago

150 North Riverside is a 54-story tower along the Chicago River with a striking silhouette created by its narrow base and widening shape as it rises. The building occupies only a small footprint relative to its site, allowing much of the surrounding land to remain open and accessible.

The site sat unused for many years due to railroad tracks that crossed through it, until the land was acquired and developed into this office tower. The project brought new life to what had been an abandoned industrial space along the river.

The lobby features a striking LED art installation made up of moving light blades that create a fluid, dynamic display for visitors passing through the space.

The tower sits prominently along the Chicago River where you can see it from pedestrian paths and boat tours along the water. Its public lobby and riverfront location make it easy to view from multiple angles and vantage points.

The building uses a hidden water-based dampening system in its upper floors that helps stabilize the structure during windstorms. This engineering solution keeps the tower steady even when weather conditions become extreme.
