The Gogo Building, Corporate office building in West Loop, Chicago, US
The Gogo Building is a 16-story office building on North Canal Street in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. It is built in reinforced concrete and offers open floor layouts adapted for contemporary office use.
The structure was built in 1918 as a warehouse for Butler Brothers and served industrial purposes for decades. Sterling Bay acquired it in 2012 and converted it into an office building.
The building takes its name from Gogo, a company known for providing in-flight Wi-Fi, which used it as its headquarters. That connection to aviation technology is an unusual identity for a former warehouse in the middle of a city.
The building sits right next to Ogilvie Transportation Center, which makes arriving by public transit straightforward. The Clinton CTA Green Line station and several bus routes are also within easy walking distance.
A lit cube on the roof displays the Gogo logo and can be seen clearly from street level below. The 16th floor holds a game and conference room area that most passersby never know exists.
