Teatro Catia

Teatro Catia is a performance venue in Caracas built in the 19th century with iron framework imported from Great Britain. The building features halls and seating areas designed according to French architectural principles, accommodating audiences across multiple levels.

The theater opened in 1881 during President Guzmán Blanco's administration as a new cultural space for the city. Later in the 1890s, a sculptured monument was added to the building's entrance area, marking its growing importance.
