Pho Lu Bridge

Pho Lu Bridge is a steel structure spanning the Hong River between Lào Cai and Bảo Thắng districts, engineered with two separate decks for different transportation modes. The upper level carries road vehicles while the lower level accommodates rail traffic, allowing both to operate simultaneously without interference.

Completed in 2015, the bridge represented a major shift in how the two districts connected with each other. It replaced earlier limited crossing options and opened new possibilities for the movement of people and goods between the regions.

The bridge functions as a meeting point during local festivities where residents from both sides gather to celebrate traditional Vietnamese events.

The structure undergoes regular maintenance to ensure it remains safe for the cargo trucks and passenger trains that cross it daily. Visitors should be aware that both vehicles and trains are actively using it, so staying alert when approaching the bridge is advisable.

The bridge employs an innovative two-level design that allows trains and vehicles to cross simultaneously without blocking each other. This system makes it a remarkable feat of engineering for the region.
