The white marble monument stands 6 meters tall at the center of Titov Island, featuring detailed sculptural elements commemorating space exploration achievements.
The monument inaugurated in September 2015 honors Gherman Titov, who became the second person to orbit Earth during the Vostok 2 mission in 1961.
The monument represents the connection between Vietnam and Russia through space exploration, designed by Vietnamese sculptor Lâm Quang Nới.
Visitors can reach the monument by taking a boat tour from Ha Long City to Titov Island, which includes stops at multiple locations in the bay.
The monument marks the location where Gherman Titov, at age 25, held the record as the youngest person to orbit Earth for 60 years until 2021.
