Quang Ninh Museum, Cultural museum in Ha Long City, Vietnam
The Quang Ninh Museum is a cultural museum in Quảng Ninh province that extends along the coastal road, housing collections on nature, history and economy of the region. The building connects an exhibition area with a library and convention center through bridges linking three separate blocks.
The institution opened in October 2013 as a symbol of the province's economic transformation after decades of coal extraction. The collection documents industrial development with artifacts from local mines and harbor facilities.
The galleries present coal mining as the engine of regional life, with old tools and photographs tracing the daily routines of workers. Visitors can follow how coal extraction shaped towns, families and landscapes over generations.
The museum sits about 7 kilometers from Ha Long city center and opens from Tuesday through Saturday, both in the morning and afternoon. The entrance level provides orientation to the different floors, each covering separate themes.
The outer facade features a glass front that acts as a dark mirror under certain light, reflecting the waters of Ha Long Bay. This design makes the building merge with the surrounding landscape, especially at sunrise and sunset.
