Orangerie, Renaissance palace in New Garden, Potsdam, Germany.

The Orangerie is a long palace building with a central structure and twin towers, its numerous windows providing light for plants. The complex stretches across considerable length and displays 19th-century classical architecture.

The palace was constructed between 1851 and 1864 under King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. Multiple prominent architects collaborated to create this building in Italian classical style.

The Raphael Hall displays reproductions of Renaissance paintings arranged in a space inspired by the Vatican's Sala Regia. Visitors can see Italian artwork presented in a setting that follows classical design principles.

The original heating system in the western section still operates to maintain ideal conditions for plants. Visitors should expect varying temperatures in different areas of the building.

The Paradise Garden displays a systematically organized collection of exotic plants from different climate zones. The collection is maintained by the Botanical department of the University of Potsdam and offers insight into 19th-century plant knowledge.
