Towers Cinema

Towers Cinema is an Art Deco building in Hornchurch with curved walls, vertical windows, and decorative details typical of 1930s entertainment venues. The structure originally included a stage with dressing rooms and a café-ballroom on its upper levels.

The cinema opened in 1935 on the former Grey Towers estate and later became known as an Odeon venue. During the 1970s it was converted into a bingo hall, changing its purpose and remaining so for decades.

Throughout the mid-20th century, this entertainment venue served as a central gathering place where local residents experienced films and social connections.

The building provides parking facilities on the grounds, making car access straightforward. It sits in an established residential area of Hornchurch with good public transport connections nearby.

The building kept original neon signage from the 1940s visible for many decades, marking its history as an entertainment venue. These signs became a visual marker of the area's mid-century character before the property changed hands.
