Çukur Han, Historical caravanserai in Altındağ, Turkey
The caravanserai features a rectangular courtyard surrounded by arcades, with rooms built using stone foundations and brick walls throughout the structure.
During the Turkish War of Independence, the building served as a military headquarters and later transformed into a prison after the declaration of the Republic.
The structure represents classical Ottoman architecture with wooden supports in upper floors and maintains the traditional caravanserai layout for merchant accommodations.
Located near the main entrance gate of Ankara Castle and northwest of Çengel Han, the building now operates as a hotel after restoration by Koç Holding.
The building incorporates a basement level on its western side, taking advantage of the sloping terrain to create additional functional space.
