Balka Pivnichna Botanical Sanctuary, Botanical sanctuary in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
The sanctuary spans 121 hectares of natural landscape in eastern Ukraine, featuring diverse plant communities and protected flora species.
Local authorities established this botanical reserve on January 9, 1991, to safeguard the native plant species of the Donetsk region.
The reserve functions as an educational center where scientists conduct research on regional plant communities and ecological systems.
Visitors can explore the sanctuary through marked pathways while observing three red-listed plant species, including Centaurea talievii and Stipa lessingiana.
The sanctuary contains 200 plant species, with three of them listed in the Ukrainian Red Book of endangered flora.
