Seltún Hot Springs

Sulfur mining operations took place at Seltún until 1880, marking the end of a practice that had been ongoing since the thirteenth century.

A drilling accident in 1999 created an explosive vent in the ground, demonstrating the unpredictable nature of geothermal activity in the area.
