The sanctuary features an ancient walnut wood choir surrounded by olive-inlaid stalls, enhancing the architectural design of the interior space.
Construction of the sanctuary began between 1580 and 1584 under Bishop Ascanio Albertini, with final consecration taking place in 1609.
The sanctuary celebrates its main festival on July 2nd, drawing visitors from neighboring towns for religious ceremonies and traditional processions.
The building functions both as a sanctuary and as a parish church since 1983, with regular services held throughout the week.
Cardinal Ferretti granted plenary indulgence in 1843 to devoted visitors who confessed and received communion during the first week of July.
