Titan, Steel roller coaster in Space World, Japan
Titan is a steel roller coaster at Space World amusement park that stretches over a kilometer and takes riders through intense heights and speeds. The ride features six cars with 24 total seats and uses abdominal restraints instead of over-the-shoulder harnesses for safety.
The coaster opened in 1994 as Meteor Liner Titan and shaped theme park design in Japan at the time. A major renovation in 2015 brought new cars and sound systems that modernized the experience.
The name draws from mythology to represent raw power and scale. Visitors hear music and sound effects throughout the ride that heighten the excitement of the experience.
Riders should have reasonable physical ability to handle the high speed and sharp turns. The installation sits within the park with wait times that vary depending on the time of day.
The signature Titan Curve generates 3.7G of acceleration for riders as block brakes gradually slow the train before a sharp turn. This technical combination makes that section one of the ride's most memorable moments.
