The gate was built in 1755 by order of Empress Elizabeth. Its construction followed the suppression of a local uprising against forced religious conversion.
The structure displays military symbols such as cannons and rifles alongside the double-headed eagle of the Russian Empire. These elements reflect the site's former role as a frontier garrison and power center.
The monument sits at a historic slope overlooking the Ural River and is easily accessible on foot. It is located near the Treasury Chamber, making it a simple stop during a walk through the old district.
