The Outsiders House Museum displays objects from the 1983 film in the original house where many scenes were shot. Visitors see actor costumes, set props, and several hundred editions of the novel in different languages.
A musician bought the house from the 1920s in 2016 and turned it into a museum through renovations. Fans of the film and residents of the city supported the project with donations and volunteer work.
The museum preserves the primary filming location of The Outsiders movie, where actors like C. Thomas Howell and Rob Lowe performed their scenes in 1983.
The house opens Friday through Sunday between 11 AM and 4 PM for visitors. The rooms are small and a tour takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
Markings on the floor show where individual film scenes were shot in the house. Visitors can stand in the same spots where the actors performed in front of the camera.
