Palais Oriental, Luxury brothel in Reims, France
The Palais Oriental featured a grand reception room with a 25-meter bar and seven small salons decorated in different oriental themes.
Opening its doors in 1926, the establishment operated until 1946 when the Marthe Richard law prohibited brothels throughout France.
The venue regularly hosted politicians, princes, maharajas, and celebrities, serving more champagne than all other Reims establishments combined.
Located at the intersection of Rue Bacquenois and Rue Magdelaine, the building retains only its original floor mosaic and a small back door.
The ground floor contained a Moorish lounge where thirty women, known as petits coeurs à louer, received guests before ascending the grand staircase.
