W'eel the turtle, Tire rim sculpture in Dunseith, US.

The giant turtle sculpture measures 40 feet in length and 18 feet in height, constructed entirely from recycled automobile wheel rims.

Local business owner George Gottbreht initiated the construction in 1982 after gathering inspiration from the Century 21 World's Fair in Seattle.

The sculpture represents a connection to the surrounding Turtle Mountains region and serves as a central landmark for the Dunseith community.

The sculpture stands at 412 Main Street South in Dunseith, North Dakota, with convenient parking available at the nearby Log House visitor center.

The structure incorporates 2,140 precisely layered wheel rims, with its head originally designed to move before being permanently secured for safety reasons.
