The Lost Chambers aquarium

The Lost Chambers is a public aquarium on Palm Jumeirah housing over 65,000 marine animals in separate tanks. Sharks, rays, and tropical fish swim behind large glass panels that let you watch them up close.

The aquarium opened in 2008 as part of the Atlantis The Palm resort, making it a landmark for marine attractions in the region. It developed alongside the hotel and introduced a new type of entertainment to the area.

The place draws inspiration from the Atlantis legend, guiding visitors through chambers that resemble ancient ruins. Walking through feels like exploring a sunken city.

You can watch the marine life daily, and there are special feeding times when staff care for the animals during your visit. Plan time to walk slowly through the different areas and explore all the water tanks.

The Ambassador Lagoon requires substantial amounts of seafood daily to feed all the different species living inside it. This daily feeding effort is an interesting behind-the-scenes aspect that most visitors don't think about.
