Atlantis, The Palm

Atlantis, The Palm is a resort complex on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, featuring dining venues, entertainment areas, and a large aquarium. The property spreads across interconnected buildings and includes pool areas, beaches, and a waterpark that runs along the shoreline.

Planning for this resort began in the mid-2000s as part of the ambitious project to develop the artificial Palm Jumeirah island. After several years of construction, the property opened in late 2008 and has since become a well-known destination for international travelers.

The architecture draws on mythological themes and combines modern construction with design elements that reference ancient legends. Visitors experience a mix of international entertainment and local hospitality, visible in how staff welcome guests and guide them through the complex.

Access to the property is via the road that connects directly to mainland Dubai, with several taxi and transport stops nearby. The grounds are extensive, so visitors should plan enough time to explore the different areas.

Inside the property is a lagoon where visitors can snorkel among sharks and rays, swimming through transparent tunnels. The gardens and outdoor areas are planted with palm trees from different regions of the world, specially imported for the project.
