The Education City Mosque stands upon five large columns within the Minaretein building, featuring verses from the Holy Quran on each support structure.
The mosque opened its doors in 2011 as part of Qatar Foundation's initiative to establish a center for education and research in the Middle East.
The prayer halls incorporate geometric patterns, traditional calligraphy, and latticework that reflect the artistic elements of Islamic architectural heritage.
The main prayer hall accommodates 1,800 worshippers inside, while an additional 1,000 people can gather in the exterior courtyard for prayers.
