Mathaf

Mathaf is an art museum in Education City, Doha, housed in a converted school building that has been reimagined as a contemporary arts space. The galleries display modern and contemporary works by Arab artists across different media including paintings, sculptures, and installations.

The museum's collection originated as a private art gathering that was later acquired by a major cultural institution in Qatar. This assembly traces artistic movements and developments in the Arab world spanning from the 1800s to recent decades.
