Legzira Beach, Natural beach with red stone arches in Mirleft, Morocco.

Legzira Beach is a stretch of sand along the Atlantic coast featuring red sandstone cliffs that meet the water in dramatic formations. Several restaurants sit near the top, and stairs provide access down to the shore.

The main stone arch collapsed into the ocean in 2016 due to natural erosion and was one of several original formations. The shoreline continues to change as waves and weather shape the cliffs.

Local people come here on weekends to spend time with family and enjoy meals together by the water. The red rock formations create a distinctive setting that matters to the community.

Access comes down through stairs from the parking area at the clifftop, making it straightforward to reach the shore. The remaining arch is walkable underneath during low tide, so timing your visit with water levels helps.

The remaining arch creates natural frames for photographs when the tide goes out and the water pulls back far enough to walk underneath. This tidal rhythm means the beach looks and feels different depending on when you visit.

Photo locations in Morocco

Morocco offers a wide range of subjects for photographers. Cities like Marrakech and Casablanca have mosques, palaces, and gardens where colors, geometric patterns, and craft skills come together. You can photograph the 210-meter minaret of the Hassan II Mosque facing the ocean, the blue walls of Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains, or the courtyards and mosaics of the Bahia Palace. The land of Morocco has many different landscapes, from the dunes of the Sahara to the peaks of the Atlas. The Todra Gorges show limestone cliffs that narrow in some places, while the Ouzoud waterfalls fall in three steps into a wooded valley. The medinas reveal the busy markets and narrow streets where artisans work. On the coast, beaches and forts add more scenes to explore.
