Black basalt cliffs reach 21 meters high along the Mediterranean coast, creating a natural barrier between the sea and the coastal path.
The cliffs formed through underwater volcanic eruptions approximately 750,000 years ago as the southernmost extension of the Auvergne volcanic chain.
The Two Brothers Rocks near the cliffs connect to local maritime tales involving Poseidon and a siren from Mediterranean folklore.
Visitors can access the cliffs through a marked hiking trail starting at the Tourist Office, offering multiple viewing points over a 7.3-kilometer route.
The Grande Conque beach at the base of the cliffs features natural black volcanic sand, contrasting with the clear Mediterranean waters.
