Furnace Town Historic Site, Iron furnace museum in Snow Hill, United States.

The Nassawango Iron Furnace stands on the banks of Nassawango Creek, featuring Maryland's sole bog ore iron furnace from the industrial period.

The Maryland Iron Company constructed the Nassawango Iron Furnace in 1830, producing approximately 700 tons of iron annually until its closure in 1849.

The site includes a restored blacksmith shop, print shop, and weave house, demonstrating traditional crafts and industrial processes of the 19th century.

Located at 3816 Old Furnace Road, the museum opens Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with guided tours available for visitors.

Sampson Harmon, a free African-American resident born in 1790, lived independently at the site and became known for his exceptional strength and longevity.
