Lumina Park Budapest, Light art museum at Palatinus Open-air Baths on Margaret Island, Budapest, Hungary
Lumina Park Budapest is a light art museum with over 200 installations along a 1.5-kilometer route located at the Palatinus Open-air Baths on Margaret Island. The exhibition combines multimedia displays with artistic light projections throughout the entire grounds.
The museum was established as a tribute to Budapest's 150th anniversary and displays different periods from ancient Roman Aquincum to modern times. The light representations create a chronological journey through significant moments in the city's past.
The exhibition presents Hungarian cultural elements through light art, including representations of the Parliament building, the Chain Bridge, and the nation's water polo heritage.
The museum operates during evening hours when the light installations are fully visible in the darkness. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since the route covers the entire thermal bath grounds on foot.
Visitors can scan QR codes throughout the route to play interactive games and unlock additional content. This digital layer allows guests to explore the exhibition on multiple levels and discover film characters and other hidden elements.
