Park of Mediterranean Biodiversity

The Mediterranean Biodiversity Park spans across multiple ecological zones, featuring native plant species, walking trails, lakes, and educational exhibits showcasing regional flora and fauna.

The park opened its doors in 2004 as part of a regional initiative to transform the former Agricultural School grounds into a public environmental education center.

The park displays 25 contemporary art installations, including significant works by Stephan Balkenhol, Tony Cragg, Wim Delvoye, and Jan Fabre throughout its grounds.

Visitors can access the park free of charge throughout the year and explore various themed areas, including children's playgrounds, sports facilities, and dedicated wildlife observation points.

The park integrates a specialized tunnel covered in wisteria, known as the Lovers' Tunnel, alongside dedicated viewing points named after Romeo and Juliet.
