Seebrücke Sellin

The Seebrücke Sellin is a wooden pier extending roughly 400 meters into the Baltic Sea with a central pavilion containing restaurants and viewing platforms at its end. The structure connects the beach to the water while providing access to dining and observation facilities.

The pier was built in 1906 as a landing dock for steamships before suffering damage that required major reconstruction. In 1998 it was rebuilt based on historical photographs documenting its 1927 appearance.

The pavilion at the pier's center hosts classical music performances, festive dinners, and wedding ceremonies throughout the year. You can observe how this location serves as a social meeting point where the community and visitors gather for celebrations.

Access from the beach is available by elevator or through 85 steps, depending on your preference and mobility needs. Boat tours to neighboring coastal towns and chalk cliffs depart from this location.

At the pier's end sits a diving gondola that allows visitors to descend underwater and observe Baltic Sea marine life through glass windows. This unusual feature offers a view of the underwater world without requiring visitors to dive themselves.
