Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa
The Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa is a hotel in Hot Springs featuring two large towers and Mediterranean-inspired architecture. The building was reconstructed in 1924 after a fire and combines classical design elements with modern amenities for guests today.
The original Arlington opened in 1875 as the largest hotel in the state and was rebuilt in 1893 with Spanish Renaissance design. A major fire in 1923 destroyed that building, and the current hotel was constructed across the street and opened in late 1924.
The hotel's name reflects its origins in the late 1800s and represents Hot Springs' early days as a resort destination. Visitors can see how the building and its grounds reflect the city's role as a place where people from everywhere came to experience the natural springs.
The hotel sits in a central location with easy access to the famous Bathhouse Row across the street. Guests can reach hiking trails, waterfalls, parks, and the best restaurants and shops in downtown Hot Springs all within walking distance.
Notorious gangster Al Capone was a regular guest who often rented the entire fourth floor, with Room 443 as his favorite. He reportedly enjoyed staying there because of its proximity to lively nightlife and rumored underground tunnels.
