Football Museum, Football museum at Estadio Centenario in Parque Batlle, Montevideo, Uruguay
The Football Museum occupies space beneath the Olympic Stand of Estadio Centenario, displaying trophies, jerseys, photographs, and artifacts from international football competitions.
The museum opened in 1975 inside the Centenario Stadium, which hosted the first FIFA World Cup final in 1930 where Uruguay defeated Argentina 4-2.
The collection includes the original match ball from the 1930 World Cup final and documents Uruguay's national team achievements throughout international competitions.
Visitors can access the museum Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with separate admission prices for local and international guests.
FIFA designated this location as the first Historical Monument of World Football in 1983, making it the only museum with this recognition globally.
