Le Kuklos, Revolving restaurant at Berneuse peak in Leysin, Switzerland.
Le Kuklos is a rotating restaurant at 2048 meters altitude on Berneuse peak. The building completes a full rotation every 90 minutes, revealing views of Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva from every angle.
The restaurant opened as the first rotating dining establishment in French-speaking Switzerland. It introduced a novel dining concept to Alpine hospitality at the time.
The restaurant uses local ingredients and traditional Swiss recipes in its kitchen. Diners experience the changing mountain landscape continuously from their seats as the space rotates.
The cable car from Leysin center takes visitors up to the restaurant in a few minutes. Operating hours vary by season, with the service available from December through April and June through October.
Solar panels are integrated into the building structure and power the mechanical rotation system. This approach makes the restaurant an early example of renewable energy use at a mountain facility.
