The Atapuerca Experimental Archaeology Centre features outdoor exhibits showcasing technological innovations and indoor spaces with replica artifacts from different historical periods.

The construction of a railway through Atapuerca Mountains in the 20th century revealed geological features that led to extensive archaeological excavations starting in 1964.

The museum preserves and displays evidence of human settlements spanning over one million years, including tools, fossils, and skeletal remains from multiple prehistoric periods.

The site contains over 5,500 human skeletal remains from the Middle Pleistocene period, providing evidence of early human cognition and social behavior patterns.
